A host key in VirtualBox is a dedicated key that returns the ownership of peripheral devices (Keyboard & Mouse) to the host operating system. You might be wondering about the Host Key. You just need to press a combination of Host key and C on your keyboard (Host Key + C). In order to exit scaled mode in VirtualBox, you need to follow below mentioned steps. In this mode, you might be having trouble in getting back to the Window mode or you might want to change settings of your virtual machine without restarting your VitualBox software. + R – (Reset) Equivalent to pressing the reset button, will reset your virtual machine.While using VirtualBox for emulating another operating system on your OS, you may have unknowingly entered into full screen or scaled mode. + H – (Halt) Equivalent to pressing the power button on the physical machine. The following keyboard shortcuts can be used inside the VM to perform certain actions that might canflict with your physical machine Your VM will now boot from your Operating System image file and the OS installation will start as usual. Press F12 to select the boot device of your choice To start the virtual machine double-click the VM, a window opens here you can press F12 if you want to select a device of your choice to boot. Set the boot device priority for the virtual machine Step 3:- Start the Virtual machine Make the CD/DVD-ROM the second device and uncheck the other devices. To change the boot device order of your virtual machine go to the “System” option from the left side list, select Hard Disk and click the up arrow to bring it to the top of the list. The ISO image selected will be mounted in the Optical drive of your Virtual Machine Now the OS image is mounted to your Virtual machine. Select storage from the left side list, select the CD icon and from the right select “Choose a virtual CD/DVD disk file”, navigate to the ISO image file of the OS on your computer. Go to the settings of your Virtual Machine Right click the newly created Virtual machine and go to settings. After clicking finish move on to the next step. If you choose “Fixed size disk” it will take up the entire size specified but the performance of your Virtual Machine will be better.
